David Coram
Apologies to those who think this self-promotion is too much to take. I am aware that Paul D and others refrain from anything of the kind. If I cause offence or have crossed the line, please say so and I will delete. However - next week, I go back to Romsey Abbey with David Owen Norris, piano, and Richard Briers (of Good Life, Monarch of the Glen etc) to record Peter and the Wolf (organ), Babar the Elephant (Poulenc, played by Norris on the new Mason and Hamlin piano at the Turner Sims), and finally Carnival of the Animals arranged for piano and organ duet. As you can imagine, this is quite a hefty one to finance, and hence I have managed to suppress my reticence sufficiently to see if anyone might like to join the lengthy queue to pre-order one at this location - Animal Songs Thanks for reading and I really hope not to have broken any rules. D I don't think so David and I would welcome such a project. As you will know from previous threads I have a keen interest in introducing the organ to children or children to the organ and my modest attempts in the past have been fairly successful. So this seems to me something very worthwhile and I look forward to the finished product which I feel will be of great value - and I am equally sure, knowing your prowess, that it will be an artistic and critically acclaimed success too. Best wishes with it and keep us posted! Peter

Things are moving on apace and there's only about 4 days remaining on pre-orders at the discounted rate (less £3 and free P&P) for anyone who might not have got around to it yet! nachthorn
My copy arrived this morning, and I'm bowled over by the sheer musicianship. A better person than I can probably do a good review (and at a better time than 1am!) but I'd recommend this CD to anyone.
pwhodges
I also recommend it highly. All three pieces come over very well, and the organ arrangements are well thought-out and impeccably presented; my favourite on first hearing was the Saint-Saens, as I enjoyed the extra variety of texture that the duet provides (superb ensemble, as well, even without taking the different nature of the instruments into account - very well done indeed). I think I will be getting a copy for my young grandchildren. Paul
Vox Humana
Yes, it features some of the most sheerly musical organ playing I have heard for a very long time - and the pianist's not half bad either!
