His works have been awarded prizes in composition competitions in Canada, Croatia, New Zealand, Russia, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. He received his first organ lessons in 2010 from Evert van de Veen from the city of Voorthuizen and won first place in the Feike Asma competition in the same year. In June 2015, Gert won the Govert van Wijn Organ Competition in the Grote Kerk, Maassluis. Well over 200 youtube videos have featured Gert - some from a very early age - and in November 2014 his first commercial CD was recorded on the 4-manual Stahlhuth-Jann organ in Dudelange (Luxembourg), his double album 'Reprise' following in April, 2015. While still at school he gained the diplomas of the Royal College of Organists winning the major prizes. In 1974 he became Organ Scholar of St. John’s College, Cambridge, where for four years he acted as assistant to Dr. George Guest and held the University John Stewart of Rannoch Scholarship in Sacred Music. His organ studies were with Jonathan Bielby, Ralph Downes, and Dame Gillian Weir. He made his debut in the 1977 Promenade Concerts in the Royal Albert Hall, playing Reubke’s Sonata on the 94th Psalm. He was the youngest organist to appear as a soloist in the Proms. On leaving Cambridge, he was appointed Assistant Organist at London’s two Anglican Cathedrals, St Paul’s and Southwark. During this time he won first prizes from the Manchester and Leipzig J. S. Bach International Organ Competitions in 1978 and 1984 respectively. In 1985 he became Sub-Organist of St Paul’s Cathedral, becoming Organist and Director of Music there in 1990 until 2004. As an organist, John Scott has performed in five continents, premiered many new works written for him, and worked with various specialist ensembles. In November 1989 he inaugurated the new Rieger organ in the Hong Kong Cultural Centre and in 1990, he was one of five international Cathedral organists invited to play in Washington National Cathedral to celebrate the completion of the Cathedral. In recent years, recital engagements have included venues in the USA, UK, Germany, Holland, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy, South Africa, Slovakia, Australia and New Zealand. Highlights have included recitals in the Thomaskirche, Leipzig, Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Notre Dame in Paris, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, the Aarhus Organ Festival in Denmark, Cologne Cathedral, Disney Hall in Los Angeles, London’s Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Westminster Abbey, Westminster Cathedral, St Paul’s Cathedral and King’s College, Cambridge.At St Paul’s he played a complete cycle of the organ works of J.S. Bach in 2000 and followed this in subsequent years with the organ symphonies of Vierne and Widor, as well as the complete organ works of Franck and Buxtehude. At St Thomas, Fifth Avenue, New York, he has performed complete cycles of the organ works of Buxtehude in 2007, Messiaen in 2008 and the six organ symphonies of Louis Vierne in 2009. In 2014, he was one of the featured organists in the re-opening Gala and subsequently gave the first solo recital on the restored organ in London’s Royal Festival Hall and gave the opening recital of the organ in the new Musikkens Hus in Aalborg, Denmark. In June, he gave the premiere of Nico Muhly’s ‘Patterns’ for the American Guild of Organists National Convention in Boston. In addition to his work as a conductor and organist, John Scott has published a number of choral compositions and arrangements and he has jointly edited two compilations of liturgical music for the Church’s year, published by Oxford University Press. John Scott’s many recordings include the organ sonatas of Elgar, organ music by William Mathias, Duruflé and Mendelssohn, as well as two discs of music by Dupré. He has also recorded the solo organ part in Janacek’s Glagolitic Mass with the London Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michael Tilson Thomas. He recently made a recording at the organ of Washington’s National Cathedral for the JAV label. In 1998 he was nominated International Performer of the Year by the New York Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. He is a Past President of the Incorporated Association of Organists and he has been a member of a number of international competition juries, including those in Manchester, Dublin, Chartres, Dallas, St. Albans, Erfurt and the Bach/Liszt Competition in Weimar. In the summer of 2004, after a 26 year association with St Paul’s Cathedral, he took up the post of Organist and Director of Music at St Thomas Church, Fifth Avenue, New York, where he directs the renowned choir of men and boys. He was awarded the LVO in the New Years Honours List of 2004, a personal gift from HM Queen Elizabeth II, in recognition of his work at St Paul’s Cathedral. Molto Allegro Winner of the First Prize for Interpretation and the Audience Prize at the 2013 St Albans International Organ Competition, Simon Thomas Jacobs read music as organ scholar at Clare College, University of Cambridge, where he studied organ with David Sanger and Jacques van Oortmerssen. During this time he accompanied and assisted in the direction of the chapel choir in the weekly routine of chapel services and in their capacity as an internationally-renowned vocal ensemble, performing concerts throughout the UK and Europe. These included appearances at the Salzburg Music Festival, Munich Opera Festival and the London, Innsbruck and Potsdam Early Music Festivals as well as rseveral commercial CD recordings. On Remembrance Sunday, 2007, Simon accompanied the choir on a live broadcast of Choral Evensong for BBC Radio 3 and during the Christmas season of 2008 played for the world première performance and BBC recording (and subsequent broadcast) of Sir John Tavener's Christmas Sequence, Ex Maria Virgine. Following graduation, Simon moved to the USA to take up the post of Associate Director of Music at Christ Church, Greenwich, CT and in 2011 moved to be Associate Organist and Choirmaster at Christ Church Cathedral, Indianapolis, IN. Most recently, he was awarded a full scholarship to the Artist Diploma program at Oberlin Conservatory of Music – one of the USA’s top-ranked music schools and home to the largest collection of pipe organs in the world – where he studied with James David Christie and was a teaching assistant for the organ department. In addition to a busy schedule of concerts in the USA, Simon will spend the summer of 2015 touring the UK and France, including a recital on the famous Dom Bedos organ at the Abbey of Ste Croix, Bordeaux. He has performed as a soloist throughout Europe, the USA and Australia and appears regularly on BBC radio and other European stations. Recent and future engagements include the Presteigne Festival, Spitalfields Festival, Tarasp Castle Switzerland, Ulster Hall, Caird Hall, Oxford May Music Festival, Westminster Cathedral, tours to Norway, South Africa and the USA, performances and a recording of his own transcriptions of Shostakovich, and recordings of works by Durufle', Hans Gal, Oskar Lindberg and Olivier Messiaen. Christian's musical career began at Westminster Abbey, where he was head chorister. He spent a year as sub-organist at Perth Cathedral (Western Australia) before taking up the organ scholarship at Christ Church, Oxford. Following undergraduate studies, he took a combined performance and research degree investigating the pre-Reformation English organ and winning various prizes. In 2006 Christian was awarded the Nicholas Danby Scholarship and a Wingate Scholarship for study abroad and completed the two-year solo post-graduate course in Stuttgart where he studied with Jon Laukvik and Ludger Lohmann gaining the highest results. Christian is Organist of the Chapels Royal, HM the Tower of London. In 2012, he became the eighth person in the world to perform Francis Pott's epic organ symphony 'Christus' (widely considered the 'Everest' of the organ repertory) with performances in Germany and the UK. His numerous and well-received transcriptions range from works by Mendelssohn to the 24 Preludes and Fugues by Shostakovich, and most recently a number of tangos by Piazzolla. A pupil of Richard Popplewell and David Sanger, he studied at the Royal College of Music and at Christ Church, Oxford as Organ Scholar. Whilst Sub-Organist at Winchester Cathedral he made BBC Radio 3 debut in a programme of Howells, Jackson and Bairstow, and was a finalist in the Performer of the Year competition presented by the Royal College of Organists. His recordings, on the Regent and Delphian labels, have been met with critical acclaim. These include a survey of Olivier Messiaen’s early organ music, and a disc of overture transcriptions at the organ in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow, which was nominated in the Instrumental Category for a Gramophone award. This year will see a release of a two-disc set of the complete organ works of Sir William Harris, and a second disc of overture transcriptions, on the celebrated Binns organ of Rochdale Town Hall. Tim has held a number of distinguished posts in the field of church music. He was the first full time Master of Music at St Mary’s Cathedral in Edinburgh, following which he was Director of Chapel Music at Jesus College, Cambridge. From 2004, and for nearly ten years, he was Director of Music at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, where he directed the music for many occasions in the presence of H.M. The Queen and other members of the Royal Family. In 2013 he took up the post of Director of Music at All Saints’, Margaret Street, London W1, which has a unique reputation for its music and liturgy, in order to concentrate on teaching and playing. Future plans include a further trip to the U.S.A., and recitals in Keble College, Oxford, Hastings, Coventry and Chichester Cathedrals, King’s College, Cambridge, (as part of the ‘Easter at King’s’ Festival), St John’s, Smith Square, and appearances at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall and the Royal Albert Hall. He presents 2 concerts a year with the Oxford Bach Choir, as their Associate Conductor, and teaches piano and organ at Eton College. He was a prize-winner in a number of international organ competitions including Paris, St Albans and Chartres. Since winning First Prize and Special Prize at the Odense International Organ Competition (Denmark), his concert career has taken him to the major European centres of organ music and to America, performing solo recitals, broadcasts (BBC, BR, MDR, Danish Radio) and concertos on both historic and modern instruments (including Merseburger Orgeltage, Chartres Cathedral, St Albans International Organ Festival, Internationale Orgelwoche, Nuremberg, Leipzig Gewandhaus, St Paul's Cathedral Celebrity Series, London.) Born in Hereford (England), he received his earliest musical training as a chorister at Leominster Priory and studied at the Birmingham Conservatoire, where he graduated with First Class Honours and was a prize-winner at the Fellowship diploma of the Royal College of Organists. A scholarship from the Countess of Munster Trust enabled postgraduate studies in Paris, Cologne and Vienna. Important teachers and influences have included David Saint, Susan Landale, Thierry Mechler, David Sanger and Michael Radulescu. Henry is regularly invited to give guest lectures and masterclasses: recently as a guest tutor and jury member at the Carl Nielsen International Festival and Competition, Denmark, Eastman School (USA), Three Choirs Festival, Calgary International Organ Festival (Canada), Royal College of Organists (London), Edinburgh Organ Academy, Cambridge Academy of Organ Studies and the Royal Academies of Music in Oslo and Copenhagen. Three half-hour recitals will be given by Henry Websdale, Weston Jennings and students from the RCO / St Giles' School. His musicianship has been praised as “exhilarating” (Gramophone), “dazzling” (The Organ), and “formidable” (Organists’ Review). He has pioneered the use of film as a means of promoting organ music, and has presented and performed in two DVD releases, Virtuoso! Music for Organ, a film featuring some of the most demanding 20th century repertoire, and The Elusive English Organ, a journey through English organ music from 1550 to 1830. He is currently preparing the sequel, The Imperial English Organ, which will continue the story through the 19th and into the 20th century. He has made several CDs, the most recent of which is the first solo recording of the newly restored organ of Arundel Cathedral, to be released by Regent Records in Spring 2014. As a soloist, Daniel performs throughout the UK, Europe, Australia and Singapore. Recent ensemble appearances include playing Mozart’s organ music as part of the Mozart Unwrapped festival at King’s Place in London, concerts celebrating Handel with the London Early Opera Orchestra, and tours of France and Switzerland with Kammerorchester Basel. In June 2014 he was the artist in residence at Sydney Grammar School, performing Poulenc's organ concerto, and he will return to Australia in 2015. Born in Manchester, Daniel studied at Oxford (where he gained the Fellowship diploma of the Royal College of Organists with three of the top playing prizes and was jointly awarded the University of Oxford John Betts Organ Scholarship) and the Amsterdam Conservatorium. Previous posts include visiting organ tutor at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, seven years as Organist and Assistant Director of Music at Coventry Cathedral, and five years as Artistic Director of The London Organ Day. He is a sought after educator, and teaches through the RCO Organ School, on many masterclasses, workshops and courses around the world, as well as maintaining regular positions at the Birmingham Conservatoire, Wells Cathedral School and The Royal College of Music Junior Department. He examines for the Royal College of Organists. He has published several editions, including the Easy Bach Album and the upcoming Easy Handel Album with Bärenreiter and the Complete Church Organist, volumes 1 and 2, with RSCM Publications. His articles on performance practice and performance-related topics have appeared in various music journals. She graduated in 1995 with a unanimous First Prize. At that time Eleni was also studying Greek Literature (Linguistics) at the National Republic University of Athens. In 1998 Eleni was awarded a three- year scholarship by the “Friends of Music Society” in order to study the organ with Nicolas Kynaston in the Athens Concert Hall. Studying organ music with Nicolas Kynaston and David Titterington at the Royal Academy of Music Eleni graduated from the Postgraduate Performance Course in 2004 with distinction and has also studied privately with Johannes Geffert, Head of Church Music Studies at the Cologne Hochschule. Eleni has performed as a soloist at the Athens Concert Hall, Bonn-Beuel. Dusseldorf, Himmerod Abbey (Germany), All Souls Langham Place, Westminster Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Huddersfield Town Hall, Cambridge Festival, St. Dominic’s Priory, Ciuntadella Cathedral (Menorca), Temple de Foyer (Paris), Bristol Cathedral, York Minster. As a chamber music player Eleni has performed at St. Martin in the Fields, the Dutch Church London, the Evangelist Church of Katerini (Greece), the Athens Spring Organ Festival and the Athens Megaron In 2003 Eleni was awarded a scholarship from the Alexander S.Onassis Scholarship Foundation. In 2004 she was awarded the “Margaret and Sydney Lovett Organ Prize” and the “United Music Publishers Ensemble Prize (London-Royal Academy). In 2007 she was awarded the Artistic Director’s Prize at Mikael Tariverdiev International Organ Competition in Kaliningrad, Russia. In 2005 Eleni participated in a joint recording project with the Royal Academy of Music and the Southwark and South London Organ Society, playing at the Royal Festival Hall. In February she participated in a CD recording of English Choral music with the Rugby School Choirs. Eleni has been Organist-in-Residence at Tonbridge School, Bilton Grange School and Bishops Stortford College. Currently she teaches piano at Kent College, East London Music Service and piano- organ at Rugby School. Eleni has started in October 2010 her PhD in Organ Performance in Max Reger’s organ music on a studentship at Christ Church University, Canterbury. Currently she teaches keyboard skills at CCCU and plays the organ for the University Graduation Ceremonies at Canterbury Cathedral. Fullinwider Centennial Endowed Chair in Music Performance at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA. This appointment was preceded by his positions as Professor of Organ at the University of Music and Performing Arts “Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig, Germany, and as Associate Professor of Organ and Chair of the Organ Department at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, USA. In Leipzig, Mr. Engels was founder and Artistic Director of the European Organ Academy Leipzig, attracting faculty and students from around the world. As an advocate and specialist for the music of the late-Romantic German Composer Sigfrid Karg-Elert, he also founded the Karg-Elert Festival in Leipzig, demonstrating and discovering the unique works of this Leipzig composer. In 2015 Mr. Engels will finish the world premiere recording of the complete organ works of Karg-Elert. Mr. Engels maintains a vigorous international concert schedule and is a sought-after teacher, having presented lectures and master classes across the European continent, North America, Russia and South Korea. Mr. Engels frequently serves on juries at leading international organ competitions, such as the St. Albans Competition and the Bach Competition Leipzig. His musical education took place in Germany and the United States. He studied organ, piano, harpsichord, choral conducting and church music at the Universities in Aachen, Düsseldorf, and Cologne. From 1993 until 1998 he pursued further organ studies with the late Robert Anderson in Dallas and Wolfgang Rübsam in Chicago. He achieved his international break-through when he was awarded the “Concerto Gold Medal” at the 1998 Calgary International Organ Competition.
