All eyes on Church Church Oxford! The big job now being advertised...

Top job advert now out, but as the musings already posted suggest, it's hard to see how this is anything other than a formality!!

Any news, I wonder, from Brasenose or Mansfield Colleges or Lady Margaret Hall - all Oxford colleges that advertised for a DoM over the summer, but don't seem to have announced any appointments?...

End of an extraordinary era at Trinity Cambridge:

Grace Cathedral San Francisco (with its men and boys choral foundation) is advertising for a new DoM. I wonder where Benjamin Bachmann (in post for over a decade) is off to...

Bourne Street is a Sunday only job, I think, so it must be alongside something else (Paul Brough combined it with Keble, of course)...

Another big Cambridge job available as Richard Pinel moves on from Jesus Cambridge...

I see Keble Oxford and Queens Cambridge are both advertising for a new Director of Music. Essentially the same hours, same requirements, same sort of set up. Keble offer a FTE salary of £49,667; Queens £31,250!

Remarkable to have three cathedral DoM positions being advertised at the same time!

Anyone know if Worcester were able to appoint mid-lockdown, as St Peter's was (Quentin Beer)? I think Professor Darlington is still holding the fort?

With most cathedral musicians on a term's notice, presumably they're hoping for either an internal appointment or to bring someone out of retirement etc., otherwise it would be a very short fixed term indeed!

Interesting juxtaposition of job adverts in Oxford. St Peter's College - a 0.4 position for two services a week, £19k. Worcester College - a 0.4 position for four services a week, £14k.

Martin Baker has resigned (as of last month it seems) from Westminster Cathedral.

I understand Stephen Darlington will be looking after the choirs at Worcester College Oxford for two terms, while a more permanent successor to Thomas Allery is sought. As Edward Higginbottom does the same at St Peter's College, and as Matthew Martin prepares to leave Keble College at Easter, it seems a lot of change is afoot below the dreaming spires!

On the subject of Oxford colleges, I hear Matthew Martin's soon (April) to be vacant position at Keble will be advertised after Christmas.

Looks like Tim Byram-Wigfield is moving on from All Saints Margaret Street. Anyone know where he's going?

Ah, is half a term standard practice? It's a full term in my line of work!

I wonder what's going on in Warwick. Mr Corns' appointment to Sheffield was announced in February, with effect from June, but no signs of advertisement as yet. A long interregnum seems inevitable!
