What Have You Written?

Recommended Posts

Some organ music is in the process of being published by fagus music - they already have a piece of mine in a compendium of Communion music.

I have written literally tons of music, and have about 25 pieces in print in the UK, US and Canada (not bad going only being 24!). Mostly choral or organ; some instrumental. They're not at all popular in the UK (too 'nice', not enough dissonance!). They even get performed occasionally, but again, mostly in the US. I'm dying for people to start recording them though......

I wrote my first Organ Sonata (all ten minutes of it) when I was ten. I'm actually quite proud of it, it's the longest piece I've ever written but probably would benefit from being updated some day. When I eventually retire I might think about Sonata no. 2.

During university days as an organ scholar I wrote a Mag and Nunc in a Stanford-esque style that is still waiting for its public debut. Actually we performed the Nunc at my mother's funeral, but in unison only as the choir had only a day to learn it and some of them couldn't read music. So it isn't too difficult hopefully if someone wants to give it a shot....
