DHM
How many British organ builders still make their own consoles? Does anybody know of a company (apart from the well-known one in Devon) who would be prepared to build inexpensive MIDI consoles for connection to a PC? Hi I don't know about inexpensive! There are very few UK organ builders where that description applies! The obvious places to try are Renatus and P&S. Willis have done a custgom one for a customer's digital organ (pics on their web site) and I guess some other pipe organ builders might consider this if they have enough time. Maybe it's a niche in the market that needs filling. Every Blessing Tony

I don't know about MIDI, but George Sixsmith & Son build excellent consoles.
Vox Humana
Just make sure that they build them with Harrison & Harrison ergonomics!
Frank Fowler
Just make sure that they build them with Harrison & Harrison ergonomics! Here! Here! A good console cost money - all the inexpensive ones that I have come across were pretty grotty, starting from the pedalboard up. FF

Many of the smaller organ builders have done this to a high standard and relativel low cost. Most electronic consoles are made in Poland or Holland where the Government subsidises disabled workers to make them. Barry Williams
DHM
Thanks to all for the replies so far. The obvious places to try are Renatus... Tried them - didn't get a reply to my last enquiry. Don't think they're interested. ...and P&S. More info, please. Who/where are they? Willis have done a custom one for a customer's digital organ (pics on their web site) Tried looking there - didn't find any pics of that. Sorry! Maybe it's a niche in the market that needs filling. It definitely is, and it does. The German firm I (am trying to) represent has an excellent solution, but seems incapable of delivering it within a reasonable timeframe. I'm looking for a solution that can be delivered efficiently and reliably in weeks rather than months, without constant excuses for repeated delays. There is also an excellent solution just announced in the US, but then there are freight costs, customs duties... A UK product would be so much easier. JJK
Willis have done a custom one for a customer's digital organ (pics on their web site) Tried looking there - didn't find any pics of that. Sorry! If you look in the "projects" section it's at the bottom right. However, it may be not quite the sort of thing you are looking for - the keyboards and stop knobs are all ivory, and it must have cost a fortune. As David Wyld has previously mentioned on this board, it is connected to a digital simulation with the stop list of the St Georges Hall Willis. Hi It's a little tucked away on Willis' site - and now only a picture (there was some blurb until they changed in the last few weeks). Guest Barry Williams
I thought Walkers and, consequently P&S went out of business earlier this year. As far as I am aware, Walkers is now owned separately and P & S has undergone a resurrection. Barry Williams
