Peter Clark
Following on from MAB's thread about Christopher Dearnley, many years ago I owned a book which contained a number of short "chorale preludes" (for want of a better term) by GTB - the one based on Dominus Regit Me was modelled on last movement of Messiean's L'Ascension. Does anybody recall this collection - or still use it? Peter
gazman
Ah, yes. GTB's 113 Variations on Hymn Tunes for Organ, published by Novello, with a picture of the good Doctor on the cover. I've not played any of these for a number of years, and will take another look. I wonder what Dykes would have made of Dominus regit me though! I've used some pieces from it over the years - notg much recently as they don't really work on an early English style chamber organ! Every Blessing Tony
