Pierre Lauwers
.....And with those copper resonators, one might expect much harmonic development; now with a crude voicing on 50mm wind, what a refined, subtle rattle we can aim at. Splendid! Pierre

Splendid! Pierre Fortunately mine is on four times that pressure and has spun brass resonators which were manufactured by Boosey and Hawkes - quite literally orchestral trumpets. Consequently, my Chamades make a wonderful, bright, thrilling sound - none of this nasty, opaque Tuba nonsense....

When told that he didn't have a trumpet like that at the abbey, he replied:- "Indeed we do not! You see, at the side of the console is a telephone, and when I want a State Trumpet, I pick it up, ring the palace and bloody-well ask one to come round!"
