"Maurice Duruflé: The Man and His Music is a new biography of the great French organist and composer (1902-86), and the most comprehensive in any language. James E. Frazier traces Duruflé's musical training, his studies with Tournemire and Vierne, and his career as an organist, church musician, composer, recitalist, Conservatoire professor, and orchestral musician. Frazier also examines the career and contributions of Duruflé's wife, the formidable organist Marie-Madeleine Duruflé-Chevalier."

Looks very interesting (and maybe not cheap at £35, but a whole load more affordable than Rollin Smith's Vierne biography). Has anyone here seen it?

Well, fifteen pounds more affordable - my copy of Rollin Smith's excellent book on Vierne cost me fifty pounds - including postage, as far as I can remember. It is worth every penny.

However, this also looks interesting and I shall probably order a copy tomorrow.

The Organ Historical Society shop is offering an introductory price on this biography until mid December of US49.95 (£24.48) plus postage.

That's also where I bought my copy of the 2nd edition of Snyder's Buxtehude biography, similarly reduced for an introductory period. I find it worthwhile keeping an eye on this site.
