mrbouffant
Does any learned soul hereon know where I can get hold of a piano/organ transcription of Troika? I have a bride who would love it at the end of the month but my normal internet sources can only offer band or violin arrangements... Any ideas gratefully received with thanks! I have the same situation for December 29th but have suggested that they get the music if they want it - with an added complication that a string quartet is also due to appear for the occasion. If anything turns up I will gladly pass it on. AJJ

Boosey & Hawkes publish a simplified piano arrrangement in the 20th Century Classics series, Volume Two. (1989) The B & H arrangment is very short - just two pages. The piece goes very well on the organ if you play all the notes, which that arrangment does not have. Try score reading. It is actually quite an easy one to do. Barry Williams Boosey's also publish a 4H version in (the confusingly similarly entitled) 20th Century Classics 2 (1 piano 4 hands) - arranged Brison (2h is arranged Norton). Otherwise the contents are quite different. Unfortunately our copy seems to have been 'borrowed' so I can't comment on its effectiveness directly; from memory it seemed quite good. There may be a sound sample on the boosey website. MGP
Justadad
Lawrence is playing piccolo in this with the Thames Youth Orchestra at the moment. No use, I know, but I thought I'd mention it Best wishes J
mrbouffant
Thanks for all your responses. I have ordered the 4H version from Booseys and if it turns up in time I'll see if I can busk it directly from that arrangement. Failing that, I might transcribe it for organ. Perhaps I can sell it back to B&H for publication. LOL
