I thought these clips might be of interest. I came across them this afternoon and the clips contain fragments from the dedication of the Klais in Zaragoza. There are 9 parts:

Part 1: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=SzOV5DeJ3co

Part 2: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=C7WVX58k85M

Part 3: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0AHCBXE-BU

Part 4: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=pAjUGnfwMfg

Part 5: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=ri634NT8OHg

Part 6: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=7IOfBHOqjXI

Part 7: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cJQwH5lmGEU

Part 8: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=dVX-F51UIcg

Part 9: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=mNVvrOq28QU

Great sound samples in clip 2, especially the last one which - not suprisingly - draws applause from the congregation: anyone fancy playing "Tu es Petra" (Mulet) on that registration? Clip 5 reveals the identity of the Klais representatives sitting under the organ there. Clip 6 contains a nice - if somewhat slow, for my liking - rendition of "Land of Hope and Glory". Also great sounds in clips 7-9.

Must have been a great occasion. Anyone know where I can get the DVD?

Dave

I pass no comment on the singing or the 'interesting' characters in the recession, but the state trumpet certainly raises the hairs on the back of my neck!

in the second verse of the hymn (first clip) someone very near the camera is humming a rather wayward alto line!

Trumpets sound fabulous!

Thank you for posting this; the State Trumpets are stunning. I'm slightly surprised at the tolerance shown towards the cameraman in a service although there did appear to be a little mild hassle towards the beginning.

...by David Briggs is well worth listening to, there are 2 other movements in the same improvisation, to be found in the same YouTube section.

Indeed, a splendid instrument reborn in what must be one of the most original and inspiring buildings of the 20th century. Completed in 1923 to the designs of Ragmar Ostberg in so-called 'national romantic' style, it is a remarkable mixture of Florentine, Moorish and Scandinavian influences. The Blue Hall in which the organ is sited is just one of several amazing interiors. Despite its vast size, the scale of the building is somehow humane and democratic. quite unlike the bombastic monstrosities created only a few years later in totalitarian Germany, Italy and Russia.

Congratulations to H&H on what is said to be the largest horeshoe design in the world.

Anyway, do not expect Oscar Walcker to turn his bones in his graveyards,

as he held Willis and Harrison in great esteem. In a time when this was not

something to shout on the roofs in Germany, so this is not well known.

Anyway, to have one of his organs restored by the inheritors of the great

british tradition was certainly an excellent idea.

I'm hoping not to appear too ignorant here, but can someone fill me in on who Diane Bish is? There are loads of youtube videos, and reading some of the comments posted by 'fans', she appears to have almost reached deity status in the organ world.

Have I missed something, or is she of the generation before my time?
