I came across them this afternoon and the clips contain fragments from the dedication of the Klais in Zaragoza. Clip 5 reveals the identity of the Klais representatives sitting under the organ there. Clip 6 contains a nice - if somewhat slow, for my liking - rendition of "Land of Hope and Glory". I want that console in my living room. Indeed, a splendid instrument reborn in what must be one of the most original and inspiring buildings of the 20th century. Completed in 1923 to the designs of Ragmar Ostberg in so-called 'national romantic' style, it is a remarkable mixture of Florentine, Moorish and Scandinavian influences. The Blue Hall in which the organ is sited is just one of several amazing interiors. Despite its vast size, the scale of the building is somehow humane and democratic. quite unlike the bombastic monstrosities created only a few years later in totalitarian Germany, Italy and Russia. In a time when this was not something to shout on the roofs in Germany, so this is not well known. There are loads of youtube videos, and reading some of the comments posted by 'fans', she appears to have almost reached deity status in the organ world.
