Peter Clark Posted June 1, 2008 Share Posted June 1, 2008 This d minor toccata features, towards the end, an ascending broken chord pedal passage which is answerd by block chords on the manuals (and this passage, incidentally, gives the impression of being in 3/4 despite the time signature being 4/4!). Is it possible that this passage might have inspired a similar pedal motif in the F major toccata (which of course is in triple time)?
