octave_dolce
I'd like to know more about this fugue, seeing that it's not included in the Neue Bach Ausgabe volumes. The counterpoint may not be as intriguing as that of the big organ fugues, but it reminds me of the fugal sections of some of the harpsichord toccatas. pwhodges
It's in NBA Volume 11 (published 2003). It reminds me of the big harpsichord gigues by Handel, as well. Paul
Malcolm Kemp
The G major Fugue that I have always greatly enjoyed playing but can find only in the Novello edition is BWV 576. Malcolm
pwhodges
NBA 11 omits that one, listing it under the heading: "Works whose composer is unknown or uncertain". Paul

Vox Humana
The G major Fugue that I have always greatly enjoyed playing but can find only in the Novello edition is BWV 576. Malcolm Is it not in Lohmann's edition (Breitkopf)? I thought he included not only everything that could conceivably be by Bach, but also everything conceivably by Bach that could conceivably be played on an organ. But I only have three of his volumes so my impression may be a bit OTT.
