Wedding request

Dear all,

 

I've had a request for something like Zadok the Priest for the bridal entrance - sadly there's no choir, so I need something similar perhaps in period/texture, building towards a similar climax ... I rather ran out of ideas

Could you not play an organ arrangment of it? Play the organ accompniment to the vocal parts, then take SAT on a different manual and continue the semiquavers an octave lower?

Not knowing the place where the marriage will take place, it might be an idea to time how long her walk will take. Many brides request music that is too long and perhaps the bit they want doesn't feature during the time she takes to glide. I have a suspicion that you might as well start this as she is leaving her home. By the time she enteres you will have just about reached the Choral entrance to match her's!

 

 

I have always preferred an arrangement of one of H J Roman's Sonata da Chiesa works (in D). Fantastic and wonderful for an entrance and fit for royality. Sensational as a Programme opener too. I shall create a link for it if you liike.

That would be fantastic, Nigel! The church is a fairly large one, and she will be entering through the west door, so I could start when she arrives in the porch and have her set off down the aisle a page or so later I suppose.

There's an organ transcription of Zadok the priest available for free download on the IMSLP website. Also an arrangement of the Champions League theme (if the happy couple are football fans) based on the same piece.
