madorganist
I was having a look at this website http://www.stsulpice.com/Docs/specs.html via google translate. It came up with some very interesting stop names: Provision 4 rows Game 4 full rows Watch 16 Bumblebee 16 Watch 8 Unda Husbands 8 bent Trumpet 8 Well...... it made me smile
flûte harmonique
Unda Husbands is particularly funny. I would have preferred Unda Seas or Oceans!!
Nick Bennett
Unda Husbands is particularly funny. I would have preferred Unda Seas or Oceans!! Or for the more rotund among us, Unda Pants
Vox Humana
I wonder whether I could get a "machine hail" accessory for my organ. Something to shower the congregation when they are dragging, perhaps, or something to install above the pulpit.
justinf
St. Sulpice doesn't have one (!), but i remember chuckling over a "Bumblebee of love" on a different instrument, grace à Babelfish. I do like how the St. Sulpice "Trompette en Chamade" (caption under the first photograph) was translated as "Trumpet Wildly." Something gained in translation, there. Here's a video of the "machine hail" in action:
Choir Man
I do like the Full Harmonic Thurs on the positive and wonder if the next stop shouldn't be a 'Discordant Friday' followed by 'Unison Saturday' finishing with a 'Re-harmonised Last Verse Sunday' Also the caption on the photo of the Choir Organ suggesting that it's capable of producing eathquakes!
