John Furse
In, probably, the early 70s, I once played the small, 2-manual Conacher in the Church of the Resurrection in Ely, Cardiff. As far as I can recall, it had some lovely flutes and reasonable diapasons, but was limited- no mixtures, an Oboe (?). High on the 'first floor' and in this cavernous (600-seater), Byzantine-inspired church, it sounded very fine in its typically 'high-church acoustic'. Looking on the interweb, it seems to have succumbed to electric shock treatment.
