Vox Humana
For those who aren't aware already, videos of all the first round performances are online here. I have listened to all of them (yes, really) and found them most interesting, despite the inevitable repetition of pieces. Some of the Buxtehude performances are exemplary and most are blessedly free of the bizarre rhetoric one so often hears today. I don't recall anyone changing manuals during the Bach fugues and the music was none the worse for that. For the life of me I can't fathom why Angela Metzger didn't get through to the second round. Personally I found her performance one of the more consistently secure and musically satisfying. But that's juries for you, I suppose. The specification of the organ is here. DHM
A typo in the Brustwerk, perhaps? Two 8ft flutes and a 2ft Prinzipal, nothing at 4ft?
