AJJ
Does anyone on here have the volume/s of Nibelles 50 pieces for liturgical use? I have heard extracts played and some of the pieces sound quite effective but would not really want to get hold of the whole lot unless it was worth it. His Carillon Is quite well known and I believe there is a quite effective Toccata too. A
Dee Surtees
According to his French Wikipedia article, the Carillon orléanais and the three Toccatas are separate works. https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Nibelle The 50 pièces sur des thèmes liturgiques seems to consist of a collection of entrées, offertoires, élévations, etc. much in the manner of Franck's L'organiste and similar collections. http://biblio.cmadq.gouv.qc.ca/in/faces/details.xhtml?id=p%3A%3Ausmarcdef_0000001987&

You will find the content here. Extracts from the foreword, written by Félix Raugel : ... ... AJJ
Thanks for all this - have just ordered! A The pieces arrived today and if first impressions are anything to go by this anthology will prove to be a real treasure trove. Think early Langlais, not too astringent, plainsong based and generally two stave with optional pedal. Nice! A

blanni
Am late to this party but agree that these pieces are very useful, especially for formulating further ideas to cover the action in a service. NB
