OrganistOnTheHill
Does anyone know of any cathedrals or churches in London that let organists practice for free or for a small fee?
Guest Geoff McMahon
I have no idea how much St Giles Cripplegate would charge, but it may be worth your while enquiring there. The person to contact is Anne Marsden-Thomas and her email address is <AMT@organschool.com>. There are three organs there which might be available, all very different. Choir Man
In my experience I have found many churches to be most welcoming (although there were a few that weren't). I would suggest to check the websites of your local churches and send a few emails to the DOMs or whoever's contact details you can find, explaining your requiements. The only possible consequence is that you might be added to their list of deputising organists.
David Drinkell
If you're at Harrow , St. George's, Headstone is quite close and has a fine and unusual Rothwell organ featuring the firm's unique stop-control with tabs between the keys. I don't know if the organ-enthusiast vicar is still there.
