Guest Cynic
I thought I'd try learning this, generally fond of Saint Saens. I'm puzzled and thought I'd try tapping the combined brain-power of this forum. On the first and second pages some of the score is laid out on four staves, indicating which manual should be played (somewhat along the lines of the Eb Fantaisie) - no problem there. There are also markings as to which hand should play at various points. Some of these are completely counter-intuitive and of no very obvious purpose. Does anyone know this piece well and can suggest what advantage or significance these markings could have?
