Sad to report the death of Andrew Seivewright, formerly of Carlisle Cathedral.

I knew him well, and he was I believe only the THIRD organist at Carlisle Cathedral in 123 years! His predecessors, Dr Wadeley and Dr Ford, had also enjoyed long tenures at that place, and Andrew would have known the organ in two distinct periods of its life, both before and after its Walker rebuild. My own tutor was his longest-serving assistant, Hugh Davies.
