Peter Clark
A very effective setting of "There's a widenes in God's mercy" was just broadcast but the composer was not iodentified. Can anyone help? Thanks Peter
Philip
I've not listened, but according to the transcript it was to the tune 'Corvedale' by Maurice Bevan. It is one of the finest 20th century hymn tunes, and widely available now (in Common Praise, for example). There is a setting which includes interludes between verses which is in 'New English Praise' which makes it suitable as a straightforward anthem too. Richard Fairhurst
Yes, it was the setting of Corvedale featured in New English Praise. Earlier thread here.
