DHM
As a teenager (many moons ago) I remember hearing an old Supraphon LP of "Modern Czech Organ Music" which included a Toccata by one Milos Solkola. Does anyone know where I might find a copy of this (either the sheet music, or a recording, or both)?

Does anyone know where I might find a copy of this (either the sheet music, or a recording, or both)? ===================== I "think" you may be referring to a Passacaglia on BACH, which takes the form of a toccata. If it is this, the following links and addresses may help:- Czech Music Fund, Hire Library, CZ, 150 00 Praha 5, Radlicka 99, Tel: +420-2-51556642, -0609, -5997 Fax: +420-2-51553982 e-mail: chf-phm@cbox.cz, http:// www.musicbase.cz If it works and you have success, please let us know!!!! (At least let me know). MM
AJJ
It is possible that Nicolas Kynaston plays this piece - I think he also may have recorded it on a Hyperion CD from Chichester Cathedral but as far as I can see this recording is no longer available - it certainly doesn't crop up in current Hyperion catalogues. wolsey
===================== I "think" you may be referring to a Passacaglia on BACH, which takes the form of a toccata. [snip] MM If indeed MusingMuso is referring to the Passacaglia quasi Toccata sopra 'BACH', then volume 40 of Priory's Great European Organs features a performance by John Scott; it's still available. Nicolas Kynaston's 1988 recording on Hyperion's Concert Pieces for Organ CDA 66265 is deleted, as apparently, is George Wilson's recording from Dunblane Cathedral which I have. Jim Treloar
This piece is also on a Pro Organo CD called Fast and Sinister, no. CD7147, played by Scott Bennett at Grace Episcopal Church, Charleston, South Carolina, although that may also be deleted now.
