lettheorganthunder
Anyone North of the Border know what has happened at Inverness Cathedral. They have the only scottish daily choir outside Edinburgh and have a new toaster with chamades. All seemed to be going well until recently. Now there is no choir and organist? Does anyone know what has been going on?

bam
The old Hill was advertised on ebay two or three years ago with a starting price of £30K - it attracted no bids. NPOR records that it was removed in 2004 and replaced with an electronic.
Guest Lee Blick
I saw the old organ advertised on the Organ Clearing House website a couple of days ago.

mrbouffant
Possible bargain there perchance??? Aha... see it's already sold for $45k... a snip at the price and without the keydesk (console?). We could definitely do with a new organ in Sunny Prestatyn by the Sea? Trouble is, we're skint... Anyone know where to get any money from to pay for it? Only need about £100k.... Do what we did and put whatever monies you have to hand in the current organ fund into Lottery tickets. Worked like a charm...

DQB123
The new toaster boasts "Hill voicing"............. It is odd that we see all this organ activity and (I would imagine) considerable financial outlay on the Makin at Inverness, and then the Dean is talking in his letter of financial uncertainties. I'm very sad to note that insecure finances have put paid to what by all accounts was a lively and exciting and first class music programme.
Vox Humana
Anyone know whether this post was ever filled or what is happening there? The latest brochure from the Friends of Cathedral Music lists no musical contact for Inverness.
pwhodges
The cathedral's web site has a music page - it is completely blank: http://www.invernesscathedral.co.uk/pp/music.html Paul
Vox Humana
In fact quite a few pages on that website are blank - almost as if they ran out of money in the middle of developing it.
