    Beaminster

    I discovered this (click on 'Beaminster') - my local Organists' Association is visiting later this year. I had not heard of these builders though the Renatus firm seem to be 'fronting' them over here. has anyone had experience of their work? AJJ

Naji Hakim - Messaien & his own works. Margaret Phillips - 'English Baroque' - Stanley etc. Gere Hancock - Improvisation (one of the few not to sound like Cochereau - sorry pcnd!) AJJ

  7. Re planned wind pressures - John Norman says 5'' for Gt & Pd reeds, 7'' for Sw reeds and 13-3/4'' for the Tuba - p. 33 of the May 08 Organists' Review. AJJ

  9. But not all teachers - my year 9s wrote some really rather interesting 'permutations' on the D minor T&F - Toccatas are 'cool' apparently!. AJJ

  11. Ah - his must have been my Priory connection - the CD is at work so I couldn't check! AJJ
  12. Sophie-Véronique Cauchefer-Choplin plays it at 6.20 from S. Sulpice on a recording I have (Priory?) - that sounds a good pace for that machine. AJJ
  13. The acoustic is a help here too - it is surprising what one can play reasonably effectively on the Reiger which in theory should not work at all! AJJ PS 'Did a dissertation on De Grigny for my degree - a fascinating composer in his context.
  14. And I bet you have not heard St Louis en L'Ile sound like this before - this is M. Vernet playing - don't just listen to the start - amazing! AJJ
